I joined the Rock Drive team in August of 2024 as a Digital Producer, editing on-air video content from its live radio shows as well as from its Not For Radio Podcast.
In this role I am able to express my creativity when editing, utilising Premiere Pro's wide array of features to create comedic, engaging and digestable short-form content.
These videos are distributed on The Rock Drive Instagram and Facebook accounts as well as The Rock TikTok page which have over 2.5 million cumulative followers. The Not For Radio, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok pages also have over 300,000 cumulative followers.
Taking on this role has improved my time management skills, my ability to tell a story through visual cues, my video editing and allowed me to take more responsibility managing accounts with such significant followings.
In June 2023 I helped launch the new REX website rexonline.co.nz with the aim to elevate the audio podcast through written news and a digital platform to house all rural content.
Joining the REX team, I stepped into the unknown as an urbanite but have since learnt a lot, not only about podcast management but also about rural New Zealand and the amazing people working in rural sectors.
At REX I co-manage social media accounts including Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn and populate the website with the latest rural news as well as content from our daily podcast.
Following the shut down of Today FM in March 2023, I transferred my role to the entertainment brands at Mediaworks including The Edge, George FM, The Rock FM and more.
Part of this role was creating multi-media entertainment based news stories published to the respective radio stations websites, which taught me a new, less formal style of writing as well as allowing my creativity to excel both through written word and visually.
Another aspect of this role was creating entertaining and engaging video content from live radio shows such as The Edge Breakfast with Clint, Meg and Dan. These videos were edited on Adobe Premier Pro and have received hundreds of thousands of accumulative views across platforms including Tik Tok and Instagram.
After graduating from Auckland University of Technology (AUT) I started work as a Digital Content Producer and founding Staff member at Today FM.
My main role was creating news stories based on live radio content and general news trends for our website and social media channels using the website building tool AEM, photo and video editing on the Adobe Suite (Premier Pro + Photoshop) and assisting on air broadcasters with live updates and other general news.
Working in a team of four, I also managed the Today FM accounts on Tik Tok, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. This improved my ability to communicate effectively and maintain a structured and clear workflow. Part of this role included creating content for these accounts using Adobe Photoshop and Premier Pro.
While at Today FM I also spent some time as a fill-in Set Up Producer for the weekend sports show, contacting talent and organising two six hour shows each weekend, as well as standing in as a Technical Show Producer for Rachel Smalley's 'First Light' show, managing live, on-air broadcasting including international interviews, ads and music.
