My name is Jayden Holmes and I am a 24 year old Kiwi currently living in Melbourne, Australia.
I obtained a Bachelor of Communications, majoring in Journalism in 2021 and have used that knowledge working as a Digital Content Producer at Mediaworks since January 2022.
Outside of work, I love to play and watch sports, particularly football and Ice Hockey, and I also stay active in the gym.
Short Term: To expose myself to new challenges and dive head-first into the world of digital content. I want to explore avenues I might not initially feel comfortable with to broaden my knowledge and skills.
Short Term: To improve my knowledge and ability to create original video content using high-level equipment (Cameras, microphones, lighting etc).
Long Term: I aim to continue to learn and develop my skills as a communicator through digital mediums with aspirations to lead and help others become the best they can be.
- Increased REX Facebook followers by 195% and REX Instagram followers by 4300% compared to the previous year, successfully reaching follower count targets set earlier in the year. My contribution increased Facebook profile visits by 111% and Instagram profile visits by 215%, respectively, compared to the previous year.
- Repurpose on-air content from live radio and podcast recordings into short form videos achieving millions of views across Instagram, Tik Tok and Facebook.
- Awarded Today FM 'Employee of the Month' in February 2023 for my contributions in covering the disastrous Cyclone Gabrielle weather event that devastated New Zealand's East Coast.
- Created and managed news and talk website todayfm.co.nz (now shut down), which gained over two million page views and 850,000 unique viewers in just over 12 months.
- Built social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok + X/Twitter) from 0 to over 50,000 followers across all platforms in just over 12 months.
- Launched and solely managed rural news and entertainment website rexonline.co.nz which has gained over 100,000 page views since it’s launch in July 2023 with no mainstream marketing.
- Managed a partnership with New Zealand Cricket to ensure all social media and website deliverables were achieved in line with the agreement including the tracking and reporting of analytics for management of both parties.
- Conceptualised, wrote and published an entertainment web article on theedge.co.nz which gained over 48,000 page views and 37,000 unique views. The web article was the 10th most viewed article across all Mediaworks entertainment websites in 2023.
